  • Use Tobu limited express from Asakusa to Tobu-Nikko as the clean default. Direct limited express is roughly 1 hour 50 minutes.
  • A Tobu Nikko pass can cover base transport and buses depending on the pass, but limited express seat ticket is separate.
  • Do not default to the World Heritage Area pass; it is too small for the July 7 Lake Chuzenji / Ryuzu / Senjogahara ambition.
  • Best practical move: buy or reserve the Tobu limited express seat in advance once the departure window is chosen.
  • From Tobu-Nikko / JR Nikko toward Shinkyo and the World Heritage area, use the World Heritage bus loop, a Chuzenji/Yumoto-bound bus to Shinkyo, taxi, or walk if heat and bags are manageable.

Gotchas

  • The Gokomachi Airbnb is confirmed for 2 guests.
  • If the day starts late, do not force every shrine; protect July 7 for the bigger nature day.
  • Paid shrine/temple interiors are time-sensitive; Kanmangafuchi is better late-day overflow.
  • The July 6 train and July 7 bus plan are linked. Buy the train/pass combination after choosing the Lake Chuzenji route intensity.
