Constraints And Preferences
Purpose
Capture family-trip preferences and constraints separately from day plans.
When to Use
Use this page when deciding whether an activity, transfer, lodging choice, or day trip fits the family portion of the trip.
Default Baseline
Use justin trip defaults for general pacing, lodging, food, allergy, airport-buffer, laundry, and verification defaults. This page only records family-trip overrides and family-specific constraints.
Core Preferences
- Scenic and relaxed beats urban checklist coverage.
- Nature, water, gardens, forest, shrine-town texture, and decompression are higher value than maximum city density.
- Keep hotel moves low and protect transition days.
- City add-ons are allowed when they are low-friction, but they should not displace the scenic identity of the trip.
Practical Constraints
- Lodging is locked for Dazaifu, Kyoto, and Tokyo.
- The family has medium-large checked bags plus carry-ons.
- Shinkansen seats are booked with oversized baggage area.
- Dazaifu lodging is scenic but less central, so airport arrival and Hakata departure buffers matter.
- July 3 is a family departure day, not a sightseeing day.
Gotchas
- Do not import Quinn-trip interests into the family itinerary unless the family explicitly wants them.
- Do not add appealing side trips without checking what they replace.
