Trip Sources and Verification
Purpose
Record provenance for this trip package and distinguish imported chat context from verified current facts.
When to Use
Use this page when auditing where trip details came from or deciding what still needs current verification.
Canonical Planning State
The relevant imported planning material has been consumed into the trip package. Treat the grimoire pages as the local source of truth for current planning state.
Source Status
External links below are verification references for drift-sensitive facts that remain relevant to the current itinerary. They are not a separate itinerary source.

福岡県太宰府市宰府2丁目12-8太宰府らたんwith notification number第M400040621号. - Dazaifu Station is located in Saifu 2-chome, is operated by Nishitetsu, and serves the Nishitetsu Dazaifu Line.
- Dazaifu City guide material describes Dazaifu access as roughly 30 minutes by train from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station and roughly 30-40 minutes by direct bus from Hakata/Fukuoka Airport.
- Recent Dazaifu access guides describe Tenjin to Dazaifu by Nishitetsu train as roughly 30 minutes with one transfer at Nishitetsu Futsukaichi, and airport to Dazaifu as roughly 40 minutes by direct bus or 50-60 minutes by subway plus Nishitetsu train.
- Dazaifu Tenmangu’s nearby-attractions guide identifies Kamado Shrine, Mt. Homan, Kyushu National Museum, Dazaifu Monzenmachi, Kanzeonji Temple, and the Dazaifu Government Office Ruins as surrounding sights.
- Dazaifu Tenmangu’s FAQ says the shrine grounds open year-round with seasonal closing times; in June-August the listed closing time is 7:30 PM, and Kyushu National Museum is about a 5-minute walk from the main sanctuary.
- Japan Heritage Dazaifu describes Kamado Shrine as 10 minutes from Dazaifu Station/Tenmangu and notes a maintained Mt. Homan trail of about 6 km round trip taking about 5 hours.
- Current reports from May 2026 say Dazaifu Tenmangu’s 124-year main hall restoration has finished, but regular worship at the main hall is expected from September 2026; verify the June 2026 worship setup before visiting.
- Japan Guide currently marks Komyozenji as not regularly open to tourists, so do not rely on it as a core itinerary stop.
- Airbnb listing
1620830997379712306, reviewed 2026-05-19, describes a registered entire-home Dazaifu stay with registrationM400040621, 3 bedrooms, 7 beds, 1 bath, lockbox self check-in, washer, kitchen, wifi, check-in 4:00 PM-9:00 PM, checkout before 10:00 AM, a steep approach, narrow front road, and carbon monoxide alarm not reported. - JNTO describes Arashiyama Bamboo Grove as a short but immersive path near Saga-Arashiyama Station, with Tenryu-ji and Okochi Sanso as natural nearby pairings.
- Tenryu-ji’s official page lists garden/building hours as 8:30 AM-5:00 PM with last admission at 4:50 PM, and notes JR Saga-Arashiyama access.
- Kyoto City’s Kurama/Kibune guide identifies the area as Eizan Railway-accessible and notes that a hiking trail connects Kurama-dera and Kifune-jinja.
- Kifune Shrine’s official page lists 6:00 AM-8:00 PM main shrine hours from May 1 to November 30, with access via Eizan Railway Kibuneguchi plus Kyoto Bus or a 2 km walk.
- Kyoto City’s Fushimi Inari page describes the upper precinct route through the torii gates as a pleasant day hike and a viable late-afternoon/evening walk.
- Digital Agency describes Visit Japan Web as an online service for arrival procedures, immigration, customs, and tax-free shopping service.
- Japan Customs says Visit Japan Web immigration/customs 2D codes have been unified since 2024-01-25, so older separate-code guidance should not be treated as current.
- Smart EX official guidance says Shinkansen reservations can be made online, selected from seat maps, boarded with QR code tickets, and changed up to 4 minutes before departure.
- Smart EX FAQ says reservations normally open at 10:00 AM Japan time one month before the boarding date.
- JR Central oversized-baggage guidance says Tokaido/Sanyo/Kyushu Shinkansen baggage over 160 cm and up to 250 cm total dimensions needs a reserved oversized-baggage-area seat.
- Apple Support says compatible iPhones and Apple Watches can add Suica, PASMO, ICOCA, or TOICA to Apple Wallet with an eligible payment card.
- JR East Welcome Suica physical-card sales are JR East/Tokyo-area oriented and include Narita, Haneda Terminal 3, and major JR East travel service centers; this makes it a poor first-arrival dependency for Fukuoka.
- JR East’s 2026 Welcome Suica Mobile roadmap says overseas Samsung Galaxy support is planned for the first half of 2027, after this trip.
- Holafly’s Japan eSIM page currently advertises unlimited 5G/4G data and 1 GB/day of shareable hotspot data.
- Japan’s Narcotics Control Department says narcotic/stimulant-raw-material medications may need advance permission, with submission by two weeks before entry/departure when permission is required.

- NAVITIME is useful for pass-aware intercity route planning, including Shinkansen, buses, airline, taxi, transfer, exit, fare, and tourist-pass filters.
- Jorudan is useful as a second intercity route/fare/schedule check, but its FAQ says some features are paid and it does not guarantee correctness during emergency or special disruptions.
- Official JR East/PASMO guidance says non-personalized Suica/PASMO sales resumed in 2025 and PASMO PASSPORT was discontinued; old card-shortage guidance should be considered stale.
- JNTO says IC cards can be used for trains, buses/boats, vending machines, convenience stores, some taxis, and other services, but edge cases remain.
- Yamato says Airbnb-like lodging without reception staff is not eligible for ordinary pickup/delivery. This is critical for Dazaifu and Kyoto private-lodging luggage decisions.
- Yamato and Sagawa list useful luggage counters around Fukuoka Airport/Hakata/Kyoto/Tokyo, but storage, same-day delivery, cutoff times, and fees are counter-specific and should be rechecked before use.
- JNTO strongly encourages private medical insurance with adequate medical-expense coverage, warns that after-entry insurance purchase cannot be accessed before entering Japan, and notes unpaid medical expenses can affect future entry.

Verification Policy
Verify before final decisions:
- Flight details and airports
- Hotel availability, pricing, room configuration, cancellation policy, and AC/laundry details
- Shinkansen and local transit schedules
- Airport transfer buffers
- Restaurant hours, menus, reservation policies, and allergy suitability
- Park hours, closures, seasonal bloom status, and weather risks
- Visa, entry, legal, or public-health rules
Gotchas
- Do not overwrite trip preferences unless the user explicitly changes them.
- Do not treat trip logistics as final until verified against current primary sources.
